Help for flood-affected residents

Following the severe storms and flooding of August 15–17, Harrison County has been approved for FEMA Individual Assistance. Depending on individual circumstances, eligible residents may receive help with disaster-related needs not fully covered by insurance or other sources, such as:

  • Temporary housing
  • Basic home repairs
  • Certain personal property losses
  • Other eligible disaster-related expenses

Assistance depends on individual circumstances.

Apply even if you have insurance

FEMA may help with eligible expenses your policy doesn’t cover. FEMA cannot duplicate benefits already paid by insurance or another source.

Keep good records

  • Photograph and document your damage
  • Save receipts for repairs and expenses
  • Keep records of any insurance claims
  • Read all FEMA letters carefully
